The Westin Chicago North Shore

Modern high rise hotel in the northern suburbs. Business people in the week, weddings at the weekend. Has great local restaurants in walking distance, and lovely walking and running on the nearby Des Plaines river walk. Good option if you need tobe local, and if you have either the budget or corporate deal to justify the higher price. Staff are nice, but forget the hotelrestaurent which is outgunned by the locals and the club rooms as the club is poor.

Decent hotel within ?walking distance? to multiple dining locations. Elevators will give you motion sickness because they seem to be not calibrated and shake when they move or stop. Daily housekeeping is a huge plus if you?re staying with family and kidsor if you?re obsessed with hotel rooms being cleaned daily. If you?re a ?no shoes indoors? type of a person/family then floorsare going to feel extremely sticky so maybe bring some slippers to wear inside. If you?re staying during weekdays then you mightconsider taking breakfast included option as you can order from the menu at adjacent restaurant. If your stay falls on a weekendthen the breakfast is pretty dull and might not worth spending your points/money on?

I had high hopes for the holiday weekend, but unfortunately, I was let down. Valet service was unavailable, and the bellman was often hard to find. The bell carts were also limited in number. Parking was quite inconvenient for both hotel and conference guests. Breakfast at the adjacent restaurant had a limited selection and felt overpriced, though it was decent. I was disappointed by the operating hours of the Starbucks and gift shop. While some staff members were very helpful, I encountered several who were extremely rude. One day, my room wasn't serviced even though I was gone from 9 AM to 6 PM. The thermostats in my room, hallways, ballroom, and gym did not seem to function well, leading to a warm and humid atmosphere. The hotel was hosting multiple weddings and sports teams, and they could have managed the room arrangements better. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless the location is perfect for you. It doesn’t live up to the expectations of a full-service hotel, but it was a clean and straightforward stay.

I'm updating my review because the management did such an outstanding job during my recent stay. Thank you for making my visit, while I was visiting my daughter nearby, truly enjoyable. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and more comfortable than I anticipated. The view from the room is stunning as well. The restaurant on the ground floor offers delicious food at reasonable prices, and the service there was delightful. Additionally, having a Starbucks on-site adds to the convenience, and parking was easy with ample space available for both guests and visitors.

I attended a dance convention and found the reception staff to be very attentive and helpful. The drinks at the restaurant were enjoyable, and the room was clean. However, the breakfast could use some improvement.
