The Woodmans Arms Fellside Road Whickham

Very disappointed by this place today. my birthday with 8 families and friends and service was terrifying. eating was great when it was finally (40 minutes between appetizers and net) and manager the kitchens / guards blame, as he claimed, the waiters had not said the kitchen, we had finished the starter. the food arrived and my teller had two small pieces of meat. when this was asked, they brought more meat over (5 minutes later), but then most of my meals were gone. we ordered a few drinks and waited for almost 20 minutes to turn around and remind the manager that we had ordered drinks. again, when this was interrogated, the manager gave the rod the debt, since the system they had was to leave them at the end of the bar, and someone (students) would then bring out the drinks. all in all, the manager was very apologetic and some discount was applied to the bill, but overall the experience was bad and led to a very disappointing birthday meal. update: after this review an update is required. abtei from the woodman arms contacted me quickly over messengers to provide their apologies for the experience. we were then offered a meal that we had today. this was a completely different and thoroughly better time enjoyed by all. eating was amazing, service was excellent and workers were attentive while. overall a completely different experience from the front. a great thank you to abbey for sorting this out, we will definitely be back.

Can't evaluate this place enough that eating was amazing and the personal was so hospitable. I highly recommend it.

I had my baby shower. this place is amazing. great eating, helpful, friendly and efficient staff. 100 recommend when they are looking for a stress-free eating and drinking experience. view is also unbeatable

16 of us visited last night for some employees drinks and eating. the venue is breathtaking. the drinks and dug are amazing and the personal is just the best notch. I returned deffo, we were made to feel so welcome, especially by the management team and even managed to sort an interior for us if it is a bit too cold outside for all of us. I think I found my new home. thank you for everything xx

What a fabulous refurbishment!! food is beautiful and very good value for money, my son had the burger and couldn't finish it..1st time for everything! staff are very friendly without being pushy..it really is a great place to visit, well done to all concerned
