Caminetto Di Umberto Il - Whistler

Outstanding food quality and atmosphere. An excellent Italian restaurant which never disappoints every time we visit Whistler. Not to be missed. Excellent customer service. My wife had a ‘shoe issue’ where one of her shoes straps broke when walking into the restaurant, which would have made it difficult to walk back to our hotel. The manager made a temporary repair with duct tape(a true Canadian solution), much to my wife’s delight. Kylie our server was also fantastic. We will return.

We ate here the second day of our stay in Whistler. The staff was very welcoming, hospitable and funny. The atmosphere and ambiance in the restaurant are great. We chose the au gratin cauliflower and hot olives as a starter. This was delicious. Then we had the pasta of linguine and the fruti di mare risotto. These two pastas are of the most delicious pastas we have ever eaten!!! Highly recommended!!!

Food and service we fantastic and we got to sit outside because the weather was so beautiful. Don’t miss the part. Come over in the fish taco.

I came here with wife and daughter expecting top notch Italian food. The carpaccio was excellent but I was disappointed with the main dishes. My wife and I ordered gnocci with veal cheeks ragu. The gnocci was nice but the meat came in chunks and not very flavorful. My daughter ordered linguini with saffron and lobster. Flavor was nice but linguini was too soft. Top notch Italian restaurants should serve pasta Al dente. Bill was over 300 canadians….

I did not expect to like this restaurant as it is huge. The front of door service was not perfect in terms of getting us to our table having made us wait but from then on I was blown away. Great, attentive server. Very knowledgeable. Made good recommendations, rather than the usual push on a specific dish for the evening. The food was excellent; I cannot remember having had such good quality Italian food, even in Michelin starred restaurants in Italy. Exceptional. I just prefer eating in restaurants that are not so huge!
