They played loud ABBA music constantly, and even though the service was decent, they brought all our dishes out at the same time, overcrowding the table. It was very uncomfortable. But the worst part was when I got home. I couldn't sleep at all because I got food poisoning and was sick all night. I will not be returning!
We dined at this restaurant last year and found it to be good value for the money, especially in Whistler where dining out can be expensive. However, our recent visit was a huge disappointment. The meal was marred by inedible bits of food throughout, making it a frustrating experience. The honey garlic chicken was the best dish we tried, reminiscent of food court quality. Unfortunately, the deep fried Brussels sprouts were so hard they were impossible to eat, and the chips for the kimchi avocado were overcooked and bitter. The kimchi itself was a gelatinous mess, and the Spicy Agadash Tofu was poorly prepared with wrinkly, hard bits. The supposed "spicy" sauce was barely noticeable. Even the mojito lacked mint flavor and was made with bottled lime juice. To make matters worse, we paid $134 for our meal for two, which felt like a rip-off. Perhaps it was because it was a Monday night, but regardless, our experience was highly disappointing.
We have dined at this restaurant before and had a wonderful experience, but it seems that there have been changes in ownership, the chef, or both since our last visit. The food was quite average this time - smaller portions, higher prices, and lacking the same wow factor. We were disappointed and do not plan to return.
Says open til 11pm. Showed up at 10pm on a Saturday evening. Asked to sit at the bar (solo traveler). Was turned away and told they can’t serve me. Really disappointing. Would’ve been the best-paying customer they had all night, but they didn’t want my business.
Really cool Japanese restaurant. The interior is really Japanese style with room dividers between tables. We had 3 of the 'tapas ' dishes: all delicious. You can also order ramen from neighbour restaurant, also great!
