The sushi at this restaurant is fantastic and reasonably priced. In a tourist city, we were pleasantly surprised to find such good quality sushi at an affordable price. This place has now become a must-visit for us in Whistler!
After attempting to make a reservation for 4 at many of the larger restaurants in Whistler (all booked for some reason, mid-week, off-season) decided to give this place an attempt. I'm glad we made it! Good food, fast, friendly service and reasonable...prices. Casual counters serve space that takes a lot out. Karaage was particularly good. Very recommended!
Samurai Sushi is a well-known, inexpensive restaurant in Whistler for Japanese cuisine. The service is usually very fast unless you go when it is busy and it can wait. One evening there was a line out of the door for 15 minutes, just to get your order and another half hour to get the food. Most foods are especially good rolls. Watch the boxes consist 3/4 of seaweed, salad and rice with 1/4 a stir fry. disappointing. The gyoza was also deep fried and inconspicuous, but we enjoyed the rest.
We found a liquor store on the strip mall on Nesters road saw this Japanese restaurant full of customers. We went back a couple days later to eat now know why it is so popular. The place has limited seating many people...were ordering to go. We ordered a teriyaki chicken dinner California rolls with shrimp. They came out quickly were fresh delicious. They provide hot tea you can pour yourself. The portions were perfect we left full happy. Very reasonable price for Whistler! Will be back again highly recommend this Japanese restaurant. They also have a Samurai restaurant on Innsbruck Drive which we did not try, but probably similar.
