The Golden Lion

Dark and dingy inside like we were walking back into the 1970's, barmaid wasn't very pleasant, sat outside only to be joined by a man in a pair of slippers (Not sure if he was the Landlord or a Customer) who stood right inside the doorway smoking a cigarette and then proceeded to clear his nose and throat and then spit it all over the path...absolutely disgusting place.. Won't be returning

Called in for Sunday lunch after taking the dog for a walk down by the river the meals are very nice and the staff are very friendly, well worth a visit x

I had mince and dumping and veg it was served hot and the dumplings were yummy

Just moved to the area and like to pop in for a pint now and again, lovely beer garden and they even have water out for the dog great place to visit and kids love it.

Ordered two jacket potatoes, took ages to arrive and when they did they were extremely dry and mine was covered with blonde HAIRS. Staff did not seem to care, no apology. Table next to us also had to send both of their meals back to the kitchen. Won't be back. Terrible food and bad service.
