My husband and I went to have dinner with our two children. We were seated promptly and our orders were taken swiftly. However, that's where the good service ended.
The fish and chips were absolutely fantastic! Everything was homemade! The service was friendly and first rate.
My future in-laws and I came here for dinner. They love this place but it was my first visit. Our server seemed distant or distracted but took our orders and made no mistakes. She paid just the right amount of attention to our table so that was good. The food was amazing! We all got halibut and chips and every piece of fish was prepared and served perfectly. I'm not a huge fish guy and am often worried that the fish will be served in too much grease or a tiny piece will be buried in too much batter. This was not the case. The portion of fish was generous with just the right amount of batter and grease. We were all happy and there were no leftovers. The prices seemed high but halibut is always more expensive than haddock and cod. Our food was so great we weren't even concerned with the price. My Caesar salad was heavy on the garlic but that was the only unfavourable aspect of our visit.I will definitely be visiting again and have recommended this place to my own family.
We were looking forward to our Fish & Chips at Blue Sea considering all the good things we've heard about it. Took 30 minutes to get our order, simple fish and chips. Not extremely busy so don't know why we had to wait so long. People came in after us, ordered, ate and left before we got our order. Waitress apologized twice for the wait but never did say what the problem was. We each received very small pieces of fish and the chips seemed to be refried, not very appealing, especially the $40 tab for two of us. Will keep searching for good fish and chips in Whitby.
