Bollocks Pub & Kitchen - Whitby

I have been to this place at least 6 times in the last month... tonight I went there to chillax and have a couple drinks... at 10:30 our waitress aurora indicated that it was last call and they would take our drinks away at 11.. i told her that I prob couldn't finish my drink and another in half hour... but apparently they are willing to sell u but not willing to wait for u to finish... at 11 tim came and took my Stella ine for u that u can't just do at home...

Usually, the food at this restaurant is amazing, especially their wings. I haven't ordered much takeout during the pandemic, but I have ordered from this Whitby establishment three times. The first two times were great. However, tonight, on Thursday, May 7th (which also happens to be my birthday), the food was not good. We ordered through Skip the Dishes again. I had a delicious chicken, mushroom, and goat cheese sandwich, but unfortunately, my boyfriend ordered 2 pounds of wings that were severely overcooked. They were so tough and dehydrated that we couldn't eat them. We had hoped to enjoy a nice meal, but we were disappointed. If we were dining in the restaurant, we would have sent the wings back, but since it was takeout, we were stuck with uneatable food.

I order their $17 double burger. I love burgers. The meat I got was not a burger by any means. It was actually disgusting. Never mind that it was a frozen 4oz patty that was more saw dust than meat, it tastes like the cooked it in month old grease. The sweet potatoes fries they sold me for too much money were damp like an old basement and smelled the same. Just hideous all of it. I now feel sick and I am going to drink some milk to wash this disgusting grease cakes to my teeth. DONT ORDER THIS IS NOT REAL FOOD!

It's too bad - I had hoped for more. I had heard good things but I am not sure why. We only had snacks - but so disappointed. The calamari has some sauce over the under-seasoned calamari that was so bitter it ruined the whole dish and made it inedible. The mussels in Thai Curry Cream sauce were passable. The mussels were large but the sauce was oddly tomato based and not particularly appealing. The service was very good - server was nice and admitted that others had commented on the calamari as well. Sorry but won't be back.

The wings were just okay. Horn Dawgs in Pickering has ruined us for wings. Horn Dawgs is now our benchmark because they are phenomenal chicken wings. So, the wings at ****. Mild and hot were fine, BBQ with ranch were bland as all heck. Fries were great. Service was slow but very friendly. Prices were excellent. Sunday wing special is 6 wings and fries for $7, my wife got a mixed drink for under $5 - unbelievable. So in a nutshell, go for wings if they're on special.
