We had our wedding in May, 2019, so this a late review, but the experience has stuck with us enough for us bother writing this now. The catering experience was not good for the following reasons: The caterer was understaffed: 2 servers and the caterer only. The drink table where we offered our signature punch was empty and unattended the majority of the time. When we came in from photo's, we went to get some punch, and was told that there was no glasses. We had tell them to clean a glass so that we could at least have a drink. This had to be requested by the wedding customer. There was no supplies (plates napkins) at the charcuterie table for guests to place their food. When we asked about it we were told they ran out. It took almost an hour for all our guests to be served dinner. The meals my husband and I and received were cold, and we had tables recieving their food 40 minutes after my husband and I had finished our plates. We tried to have a coffee from the urns provided, but when we went up to pour one, hot coffee was leaking all over the venues antique floor. So we didn't get coffee. Our wine was not restocked to the tables who finished their bottles. So guests were traveling to other tables asking if that table was finished with their wine, so that they could have more. To put this into perspective, our wedding list included approximately 32 34 people. This was not a large wedding. Our final thought is that Parkwood should not monopolize catering options to only two caterers. We understand that the venue is a sensitive historical location and that the caterers need to have specialized knowledge of how to properly operate the venue so that no damage occurs. Ironically, that didn't stop hot coffee from being poured on the floor due to a faulty urn. We do not recommend.
Found this cafe while waiting for my sewing machine to be repaired across the street. The cupcakes are moist, the chicken pot pies yummy. Atmosphere is lovely, homey. Perfect spot for a chat with a friend.
The service was good but the food was cold and not as authentic as they claim to be. The quality is overrated and definitely never again.
My friends and I attended a Christmas High Tea event. Overall we had a great experience- the menu was tasty and a good variety. I would recommend prior to any event, advising of not only allergies but any diet restrictions. The menu was a set menu. There were a lot of tea options, however most of them were not available. The location is very convenient to Hwy 401. The closest parking lot, is located on Byron just south of Dundas Street W.
I went to a baby shower at the cafe. It was heavenly. The High Tea was delightful and the service was impeccable. It is a lovely place to have lunch or tea. I was impressed. Really worthwhile.
