When I phoned him on Mothers Day to get the time for the booking he informed me that our fave place was booked. Odd that it should have been booked weeks before but maybe it was. He confessed that he waited too long and we missed out on a booking BUT that he had booked Shoguns instead. Needless to say I was a little miffed and my wife said "Lets just stay home and throw something on the BBQ". We ended up going and were pleasantly surprised. The place was not at all packed so we ordered quite a selection of appetizers while we were waiting for another group to show up before the chef would cook our food at the table. They were a no-show so we had the chef all to ourselves. The food was very good and the cooking show was OK. We have been to several Japanese restaurants where the chefs put on a great show while cooking the food. Our chef was VERY young and his show was clearly mechanical and inexperienced. The food on the other hand was very good. We all had seafood as the main except for my wife who had chicken teriyaki. Chicken was perfect but the seafood (shrimps
Went there with family for a birthday dinner. There was 7 of us and we had made reservations for 6:00. We arrived, got seated at the table where they cook in front of your as requested and then it took them over 30 minutes to come back and take drink orders. Not even water was served. I had to get up and go ask. So at about 6:45 we finally got our drinks, still no food order was given. FINALLY at 7:00 they took our food orders. Again we had to wait another 30 minutes for the chef to come out and start cooking. Apparently they had run out on steak and needed to go pick some up at the nearby metro...Food was good, and chef put on a fun show. It was hard to fully enjoy the show as we were just so hungry that anytime something was placed in front of use we were eating. Getting a re-fill on your drink was close to impossible. We stared at dirty dished from the previous table for 3 hours.Maybe they were just short staffed that night, but some things were just a little bit to long of a wait for us. I would not go back here after this experience. Finally at the end of the night the waitress had apologized, but after being ignored for almost an hour (AGAIN WE MADE A RESERVATION) sorry didnt quite cut it for us.
The food and service at this restaurant were fantastic. The Teppanyaki was especially delicious and it is now our go-to spot for celebrating birthdays. We will definitely be returning.
My favorite sushi restaurant in Whitby. The staff is always friendly and the food is consistently great. It's also usually quiet every time we go, which I appreciate.
I visited this restaurant on a Friday night for all-you-can-eat. The menu was limited and the items we tried were not to our liking.
