Sunset Grill - Whitchurch-Stouffville

Brought my husband and 2 kids here for a breakfast treat today and was terribly disappointed. If you are looking for a decent cup of coffee, this is not the place. Our server barley made eye contact or cracked a smile and seemed annoyed to serve us. My kids even commented on the coldness of her attitude. My daughter found 2 hairs in separate dishes/plates. I asked to speak to the manager to let him know what was going on with our dinning experience and he said the waiter was tired and gave us a 65 cent discount off of the bill for the hair. Yes you read that right ...lol 65 cents. We did see her smiling up and friendly with her other tables so this made us think maybe she didn?t like serving black people.

I was happy to have this establishment in town until I came here for brunch. I was there with my family and we were seated outside as we wanted to be. My 9 year old asked for lemonade with her meal and was told by the server that they had none. Mind you, the reception that she gave us from the moment we walked in was not a pleasant one. She appeared visibly annoyed with us being there. We were also told that we were not allowed to switch sausage with bacon in one of our orders. I have been to other sunset locations and this has never been a problem on anything we have ever ordered. We then had a change with our server Midway through and she was far nicer. I had asked her if they have any lemonade and she said we sure do . We also had found here in our food twice at this one seating. When we received our bill as well there were other items on there that we had never ordered approximately four. We spoke to the manager although he was nice he didn 't do much to make the situation better. He didn 't provide much of a solution or compensation for the poor experience. Now I 'm never one to tie in issues of race, however I could not help but notice the server was far more conversational with the white patrons. I hope others have not had a similar experience.

Well been there many times but our last visit was very unpleasant. We felt like our server was purposely ignoring us due to our race. Didn't even get an offer for a second cup of coffee nor she stopped at our table once to ask if we needed anything. No eye contact, we needed water. I had to yell to get her attention... even after that when she stopped... she made me felt like I am interrupting her run. .. I felt disrespected.. ruined our morning... never going back..franchise will here from me..

The patio here is a perfect place for a delicious lunch meeting. Lots of parking, and the entrance is level with the parkin lot. All the food we ordered was delicious.

Great food, great service! What a delight it was to drop by this location Sunday Mar 7th. All Covid protocols in place, friendly service, well prepared food and value. The dining area is very clean and the QR menus easy to read. As you can tell the overall experience was awesome. Back again and it?s still great. Back again Aug 2021. Still a great visit with fresh food and good coffee.
