We've come for lunch, dinner, late night meals, drinks, and to bowl. The food is great every time no matter what we order. It does get crowded on the weekends in the summer so I recommend making reservations. There's also a bar area you can sit at and eat when it's really busy. The bowling alley is in a room behind the bar. We've bowled there once, it has 8 lanes and the shoes are clean, there's not much more you can ask from a bowling alley!
Building had a truck stop vibe; bar; motel, restaurant and bowling alley(didn’t personally see). Was advised to eat here from locals because of the bears that frequent the backyard. Saw several bears feeding while I ate. Apparently, people know to reserve the tables by the glass window to get prime picture opportunity. The windows however were very dirty, so the picture I did obtain looked filthy. Ordered a sirloin steak which was delicious. The salad was a tiny cereal bowl with bits of tomato and sprinkle of pre-cut cheese. Not much effort in the salad. My balsamic dressing request was two small bottles labeled “balsamic” and “oil”. Overall, disappointing.
Came here after eating next door the day prior. We had heard about bears, but it wasn't the time of year they were out. The restaurant and bar must have been recently remodeled because it looked great. On the other hand, the server didn't seem to want to be there, the food was what you would expect as normal bar food. I think the pizza was frozen and possibly cooked in the bar. Enjoyed the other meal much more.
I have to give this restaurant a mixed review. I dined here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. At breakfast, I was fortunate enough to see the bears. A large female bear and three cubs came out of the woods and ate for a while in front of the windows. I had a good view from my table in the middle of the dining room and I was able to snap some pictures. My breakfast was typical diner food. I had ordered an omelette and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were too greasy to eat, but the omelette was OK. The service was adequate, although they seemed to be short staffed. I only saw server for the entire dining room, but she was attentive and friendly. I really enjoyed seeing her interact with children at a nearby table. She was especially friendly to them. Returning for dinner, though, was a big disappointment. I got there around 6 PM and the dining room was not full. There were two tables by the window that were open and I had hoped to sit by the window for a better viewing of the bears, but I was told those tables were reserved. They tried to stick me in a corner where I wouldn’t have any view at all, but I requested to at least sit in the middle of the dining room which I did. It was still not a great seat and when the large male bear came out, by then more people had shown up and I couldn’t see anything past the people who had the window seats. So, it’s good to know they accept reservations. If I were to go there again I would make sure to get a reservation for one of the window seats. The service was completely inattentive at dinner time. There were two servers and I was ignored quite a bit. I have to say I think it’s because I was a solo diner because they certainly gave their attention to the tables where there were more people. It’s disappointing because I wanted to like this place. I liked seeing the bears. I did not like the way I was treated. The server was rude and acted as if I were an inconvenience to her. I ordered fish and it was good. I also ordered an ice cream dessert it was supposed to have alcohol in it, but it just tasted like vanilla ice cream. It was not even worth eating. I told the waitress I couldn’t taste anything other than the ice cream and she didn’t seem to care. I ended up just getting my bill and leaving the big bowl of disappointment there melting and bought a candy bar at a gas station for my dessert.
Awesome place first time here and Lindy and staff took care of us! Will be back
