This morning, I arrived early with my granddaughter and chose to sit at a table, although I did not buy anything from the diner; I had a Dunkin' coffee instead. There are no signs indicating that the tables are reserved for diner customers, which can lead to confusion, especially since there are two different seating areas. My granddaughter was talking loudly, as children with autism sometimes do, and it was clear that the elderly cashier was annoyed. She approached us very rudely and stated that the tables were for paying customers and that she needed to disinfect them. Instead of politely informing us that only diner customers could use those tables and directing us to the available lobby seating, she chose to confront us aggressively, despite the fact that there is no signage indicating this restriction. I went over to explain that I often come here, have purchased food in the past, and that this was the first time I hadn’t made a purchase. I also pointed out that it was rude for her to keep repeating that she needed to disinfect the tables. I'm rating this establishment solely based on the rudeness of the cashier. While she has every right to inform us that the tables are for paying customers, her manner was disrespectful. She could have communicated this politely and guided us to the appropriate seating, but instead, she kept insisting that she needed to disinfect the tables because we sat there. I’ve been a paying customer many times, and I’ve never once heard about disinfecting tables. She immediately started spraying them down, which she has never done before in my presence. Her incessant announcement about needing to disinfect the tables was not just rude; it was also insensitive. Working in the service industry requires common courtesy and kindness, and her lack of it has deterred me from ever wanting to spend my money there again. In addition, she went into the school to complain and loudly suggested that the school should send out an email to notify parents. This cashier needs training; her behavior was simply unacceptable.
I visited two years ago, and I was impressed! The food is excellent, the service is exceptional, and the place is very clean and modern. What more could you ask for? - Frank
I only have a half hour for lunch, so I ordered a ham and yellow American cheese sandwich on a roll with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. However, when I returned to work, I realized I received the wrong sandwich. I called Tommy's to address the issue, but it was a terrible experience. My lunch break started at 12:10, and they did nothing to assist me. As a result, I had to wait until 3:10 PM for lunch, and I was incredibly hungry. I appreciate their food, but their customer service needs significant improvement. They've lost a customer for good. I won't be returning because when they make a mistake, they don't offer any solutions. To top it off, the new sandwich they gave me was missing the mayo. I've been a loyal customer for the past five years, but that’s it for me. And I won't miss dealing with a certain unpleasant employee there. I'm tired of spending my money for subpar service, and my order is almost always incorrect. It's time to say goodbye.
