Abraxas' Kitchen - White Rock

Put a day aside with my family to make the trip down to try authentic Uruguayan food. Half way there my grandma expressed concern that we should call and make sure we didn’t need a reso. When we called they told us they’re not open because they “ran out of food” ??? And that they’ll be open Thursday. Waste of time and gas. Never been turned away from a restaurant because they ran out of ingredients.

First Visit: I absolutely loved this place. Excellent service and mouthwatering food! Will be back for sure. Second -attempt: I had such a great experience the first time, I knew I wanted to go there on my birthday. Over a month before my bday I made the reservation and a week prior I confirmed it, in which they said Yes confirmed on this day! (A Monday they don't normally open but I thought maybe they were changing schedule for summer) So my birthday rolls around, parents are in town and as we arrive I see the lights are off and the restaurant is closed! I called to speak with them and was told they never open on Mondays (I had made sure that they would be open and told for sure they would). They apologized and said they would provide a 75$ gift certificate to make up for it. Still months later, I've never received any gift certificate. Very disappointed as the food is quite good. It doesn't matter how good the food is if you don't have good customer service. 3rd try: I wanted to give them a chance to make up for it so planned dinner there. Called at 3:30pm to make a reservation that evening but no one answered the phone. Google said open 3-9pm. I go at 6pm. Doors are locked. What kind of business is this?? Reservations and open hours are IMPORTANT.
