Violet Mae's Bakery - Whitecourt

We were in search of a spot to grab a fast lunch when we stumbled upon Violet Mae's Bakery. Upon entering, we noticed a white board displaying various menu items like sandwiches, soup, and one type of breakfast sandwich. I opted for the breakfast sandwich with ham while my wife chose a BLT. I also ordered a coffee. While waiting for our order, we browsed the selection of frozen meals to take home, basic groceries like eggs, and an array of breads, buns, and pastries typical of a bakery. Our orders were ready in no time, but with no seating available, we took our food to go. This was not an issue for me, as I could enjoy my meal in the car. My wife raved about her BLT, while my breakfast sandwich was filling and delicious, yet not messy to eat on the go. Unfortunately, the coffee did not meet my expectations, tasting similar to what I can make at home. This is an area where Violet Mae's could enhance their offerings. Nevertheless, if you are passing through town and in need of a quick meal on the run or some fresh bread, this is the place for you. Conveniently located just a block from the highway near the west end of Whitecourt.

I should have gotten the yummy sandwiches, but there were just too many choices so I got the loaded baked potato soup, which was not so good. Hubby had a roast beef sandwich and gobbled it up. I found my soup to be not so loaded and once it was down to half, and all that was left was milk, I threw it out. But I did enjoy the bun it came with a lot! And we bought some baked good too and they were great. There's a Rotary park nearby where you can go and eat your lunch as this is only take out.

Great prices, great selection of sweet treats and pastries. Love the chocolate cream puffs. So glad I found this place.

Nice selection of fresh baked goods. This is one of the towns best kept secrets so take the time to visit and find something nice for the family.

I like the heavier breads and they have that..about once a month i get there raisen bread for a treat.
