I discovered this charming little family-run restaurant with delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and fantastic, friendly service. I'm so happy we stumbled upon it.
We visit this part of Ontario two or three times a year, and we always make a stop at Red Dog for lunch. It is located deep in the Canadian forests and perfectly blends in with the surrounding ambiance. The restaurant is a favorite amongst snowmobilers in the winter and Georgian Bay boaters in the summer. We are thrilled to have Red Dog as a dining option in this remote area.
The food at this restaurant was excellent. The option to add dry spice to fries was a nice touch. The decor had a Mexican aesthetic which worked well, even though the name didn't indicate it was a Mexican grill. The staff was friendly and attentive. The nachos were decent, but the meat lacked seasoning and was somewhat dry. The specials were delicious and well-prepared. The bathrooms were clean and the women's restroom had a variety of products like hairspray, lotion, and sunscreen. My male partner mentioned that the men's restroom did not have these amenities. The walls were decorated with photography and art, which was a nice touch. It's great to see companies supporting local artists. I would definitely return on my next trip to Manitoulin. Overall, good value for the money.
Good personalized service with a good location. Good food. Reasonably priced. Handy for locals. Service is quick atmosphere family oriented.
