The Rusty Monk - Whittier

This restaurant has unfortunately closed down, and I'm really sad about it because it was my favorite place to eat when I visited my family. I'm truly bummed that it's no longer around.

My wife and I had a delightful dinner at the restaurant tonight. We ordered the short rib plate and the cowboy ribeye, along with the monk wedge salad. Everything was fantastic! The ambiance was enjoyable, and the staff were great. I give it 5 stars!

It's been five years, and I still find myself dreaming about that food at least once a month... I'm serious! It was the best meal I've ever had. You should definitely give it a try and order the charcuterie board. The red wine cheese was absolutely incredible.

One area where the Rusty Monk could improve is the condition of the establishment itself. The signs of wear and tear are evident, and a little refurbishment would go a long way. However, don’t let that deter you. Despite the lack of some TLC, the relaxed vibe makes it a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends and share a round of cold beers.

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic—I really loved the decorations! The staff were very friendly as well.
