Good was great and service was really good. The people who work there are very nice. However, there was a weird smell that just destroyed the wonderful aromas of great food. Don't know what it was just not good. I will still go back for the food though
I've always wanted to stop by here but I'm rarely in this part of texas. I have always heard good things,but... let me start with the positives. The restaurant is really cute. The service was also really good. Now maybe it was an off day this area was just hit with a bunch of ice and walking across the street was taking your life into your own hands. Tbey had shoveled the walk way and were putting kitty liter into the parking spots in front so that was a plus. Im betting though they were reheating food. The red tacos were edible but thats about it. The rice and beans were wall paper paste. $65 for lunch for 4 with one beer and a soda. (Includes tip) but literally taco bell which i think is disgusting has more flavor. My youngest got a kids meal and it was awful as well. What a shame. I had really high hopes for this place and the appearance sure didn't match the quality of food. Save yourself the trouble and skip this place, just like they skipped all the seasoning!!!
We were in town from Austin visiting our daughter who’s currently at Shepherd Air Force base. We were looking for a local place to eat dinner and had read about this place and it’s red tacos. Now let me start with the positives, the service we received was great, our waiter was very attentive and very thorough when taking our orders. We inquired about the margaritas which he quickly alerted us that they were wine based and offered a small sample before we ordered to make sure we’d like it before committing. That was a great, no complaints on service. The food however was not great unfortunately. The red tacos were just ehh, not sure what I was expecting but they weren’t great. It’s kinda of a mix of a crunchy corn taco shell and flour maybe. The only thing that I cared for was the tamale that came with my meal. The refried beans weren’t good, my daughter who loves beans and rice, didn’t like hers either nor did she care for her chicken taco (normal tortilla . My son ordered a burger from the kid’s menu and didn’t like it (I was kind shocked. . The chips were interesting, very thick, but I thought they were fine, just different. They also had this red sauce in a squeeze bottle that was interesting and most of thought it was good. Kinda sweet, bbq, thousand islands tasting stuff, lol. We thought it was salsa or something but apparently it wasn’t. Funny thing, we recently went to a Pancho’s Mexican Buffet in Arlington for nostalgic purposes knowing the food isn’t great and we all thought Pancho’s was better than this place. It was a tad pricey too for the food not being tasty. Maybe we’re just used to the food in Austin and are spoiled.
My first and last visit. Service was good, and has a nice atmosphere. The food on the other hand did not have any flavor whatsoever. I had the supposedly famous red tacos. The meat was very wet from grease that wasn't drained properly, and there was no discernable flavor of spices or even a basic taco seasoning. Sad to say Taco Bell tastes better. Only tried it because of suggestions from some locals I've met while here. I may be a little biased with good tasting Mexican food due to living in San Antonio. $37 including tip for 2 taco dinners and 2 soft drinks was a tad much in my honest opinion. My girlfriend ended up getting an upset stomach and also vomiting because of the ungodly amount of grease in the taco meat. Didn't have the heart to tell the staff because they were so nice.
