Tys Diner - Wichita

Ty's Diner serves up a really good flat top burger! In taking that first bite, the burger patty had a great flat top crust and even though cooked well done, remained juicy and was seasoned perfectly. I was going to write that Ty's does their burgers upFreddy's Style, thin with a great crust, but that wouldn't be accurate. Ty's has been around a lot longer, so the truth is,Freddy's does their burgers Ty's Diner style, thin with a great crust! I wonder if Freddy's got the... Never mind... Thelettuce was fresh, the tomato was juicy, the onion added a nice punch, the pickle provided a pleasant tart element and the baconwas crisp. If you like Freddy's, you'll LOVE Ty's!

I'm not from Wichita but come here often for work. Every time I'm here I try something different and today it was TY's Diner. I had a double cheese burger with onion rings. The burger was cooked perfectly and the rings were crispy and delicious. The waitstaff were super friendly. The place has an old dive bar feel and could use a little TLC but overall I would recommend it. Great burger!!

We went here as part of our burger joint challenge.  Overall, I would rate this a fine burger joint.  the burger was huge, price point was good.  Service was very good.  Seating and parking are limited.  Fortunately my group was fairly organized that day so we got there a little early.  Ty's didn't take any prizes in our challenge, but it a quality place to grab lunch.  Good burger.  Sides were good.  service was very good.  This place is worth trying out for yourself.

If you 've read my other reviews you 'll see that I don 't give out five stars too often. This place deserves it. Great food, very happy helpful staff and the place just has a pleasant feel to it. You feel more like you walked into your own home and were greeted by friends. Lots of chain owned restaurants try to make this happen, this place just naturally does it. Had to wait awhile for my meal but it was worth it. The sign outside clearly states they 're not 'fast food '. The burger they brought me reminded me of a Freddy 's hamburger except way better. The meat was better tasting and the burger was complimented and balanced by its condiments, not fighting them. It makes me think Freddy stole the recipe from this place to start his own burger chain but never quite perfected it. You can tell this place has been making burgers since the 50 's and they really know what they 're doing. I 'm a huge fan of locally owned small restaurants like this that are all about making great food.

This place is a time capsule good ol' fashioned burger joint! I mean that with the utmost respect! I have been eating here 20 years and all though owners change on occasion the food has remained closely the same. This place is a top burger favorite!
