We ran in here for something to eat and in broken German ordered ... something.Leberkas, is a bit like British meatloaf, and between us we chose one with Spinach, and another with horse, both of which proved to be a good buy.100 gram was enough for a quick snack inside a semmel bun. Tasty, warm and at just 5 Euro for both of us, great value.Give it a try if you want something just a little different.
Amazing place for meat-lovers. Never tried something like this before. It's really delicious! Small and cosy place to have lunch.
Described to me as Austrian Spam, leberkase is something I felt I had to try while in Vienna, and my research led me here. Having now tried a few different types, it definitely is several steps up from Spam in terms of flavor, but texturally, it's not the worst comparison. Other things that this place has going for it: cute and quirky atmosphere, close proximity to Opera House (perfect for a quick pre-opera tour meal/snack,) and doesn't blatantly cater towards tourists. Overall, this is a wonderfully quick and cheap way to get yet another taste of the local cuisine.
Is not much to say. simply delicious Leberkäse sandwiches at a very very reasonable prices. Half of the price of EAT, Nero etc. and way better. Different choices. I liked the one with spinach the most. You can either take away or eat in, not much space inside though. Pay by the kg, choose the bread and that's it. Taste so good I felt sorry for vegetarians.
A great place to go for a quick bite of Leberkäs' either in a roll or on a plate. I have tried several of the varieties and find most of them good to very good indeed. But then, it's a matter of taste - I personally think that leberkäs' doesn't need truffles (and vice versa) but if that's your thing...You have to queue but that's not a problem because the staff is very fast.
