Their business model is starting to show its weaknesses, with literal cracks in the seats. The service was subpar, with a waitress wearing a ridiculous black face mask for no apparent reason. The breakfast I ordered was below average, with the sausage tasting like it came from a bag of frozen sausages and the bacon being mediocre. The only standout was the cappuccino, which was actually quite good. My friend's BLT was bland and tasteless, prompting her to leave most of it uneaten. My suggestion to management is to increase prices by 25-50%, improve the quality of ingredients, and replace damaged chairs. Furthermore, advise servers that wearing masks is not necessary if they provide good service and quality food, as they will still receive tips. It's a win-win situation for both the restaurant and its customers.
I ordered soup 30 minutes ago, only to be told that it was no longer available. I had to choose something else and wait again. I am not satisfied with this experience.
I ordered a chicken, bacon, cheese, and mayo panini, expecting it to contain all the ingredients listed. Unfortunately, the service was slow and we were very disappointed with the food when it finally arrived. The panini had a soggy bottom and was filled with mayo, chicken, and ham that smelled and tasted processed. I couldn't eat it and complained before paying the bill. The Supervisor/cook apologized for the floppy panini, but we were still charged £19 without any inquiry about the food. Throughout our meal, the staff seemed disinterested, with tables needing clearing and customers leaving due to dirty tables. Despite having eaten there before, we won't be returning after this experience.
I think this has changed hands. We used to love it here for the children. They served you quickly and the food was nice. We went today and walked out. No one came over to us to take our order of drinks or food and when we looked around there were tables of people sat waiting for the same. No one eating. No food or drinks on tables. Never a good sign so we left. We won’t return which is such a shame. The staff used to be lovely but they were all just stood around today tapping their pencils on their order pads leaning against the cupboards staring into space.
Went here for two caramel lattes. They were fine. When she told me the price of almost £10 for two coffees I almost fainted! I said We only had caramel lattes you know. This was the correct price. Never will be going there again. How can a business survive charging such extortionate prices in a tin pot cafe in the Grand Arcade? Unbelievable!
