Went here for a friend Birthday party. Be sure to have reservations as seating is very limited. The Afternoon Tea lunch was nice, but a bit skimpy on the sandwiches.
We stumbled upon this restaurant while driving to Ottawa and were pleasantly surprised. The extensive tea menu and the friendly hosts impressed me. The tea was excellent and the food was perfectly presented. I would highly recommend this place to tea lovers, and suggest making a reservation instead of relying on luck to find it.
We have driven past this little unassuming place many times whilst on the way to the theatre in Morrisburg and have planned to stop. Today we did and regretted not having been earlier. We need at least 4 more visits to sample the lovely items on the menu.Quaint and charming and so relaxing was the dining room and the food is difficult to surpass. The service is superlative. I cannot add to this. You must go and judge for yourself.
This is the tea room inside the B&B.We decided to stop in for some tea but the menu looked so good, we decided to stay for lunch. Williamsburg is a very small town and I was expecting grilled cheese sandwiches and french fries but was surprisingly wrong. I had the chickpea curry ($16) and my husband had the quiche of the day. Both meals came with a lovely salad with micro greens from their own garden. We started with a lovely soup which you can choose from 3 sizes. We chose the smallest size which was served in a tea cup...so cute. Their tea menu is 2 full pages, is diverse and includes high grown teas like Sri Lanka's Court Lodge Nuwara Eliya. I could not resist and was not disappointed by the wonderful aroma and citrus notes. My husband tried the strong Earl Grey which he enjoyed with milk. Tea was served in tea pots and proper fine china tea cups and saucers. The service was excellent and I heard the server speak French so I'm guessing fully bilingual. Their menu does include Montreal smoke meat so I'm wondering if they are former Quebecers which would explain the fine tastes and menu. If you do go there just for tea, buy at least the baguette ($4 not cheap) as it was the highlight of our meal. It was warm, just the right amount of crunch on the crust and soft and delicious on the inside. They are not open every day and there are not a lot of tables inside so do reserve and check their website. They also have a small patio so you can have tea sitting outside. Two pots of tea, 2 small soups ($5/ea), 2 meals with salads and the baguette came out to around $60 which is expensive for lunch and not for everyday but is a nice treat for once in a while.
