I rarely bother writing the review but today's experience here kinda agitated me with the service and staff there. i'm a frequent customer there since it is close to the college.. good food and drinks(tea). Starting out with their broken payment system made me buy the food with cash but it was short a little over a dollar.. so i gave them a couple of dollar coins and some bills to cover my food and the woman(not cashier) who is making tea at the back said they don't accept coins. it was so weird that they don't accept the coins officially issued from U.S treasury. So they made me go back to my car to grab some cash and changes. i came back and realized the drink was not what I wanted. So I requested them to switch with another drink and was going to pay for the difference. But they denied my request and cashier kid told me he couldn't change the order and then he asked the tea woman for help.. she was seemed to have bad attitude and i ended up paying extra($5 more to total about $38 for just 2 combos and 4 wings) for the could-have-been same combo size drink that comes with combo. Anyway my point here is being a regular loyal customer coming here for months now have to rethink about going there again since they don't seem to know/understand what they're doing and they really need to get good customer service training. Also hope they have a better customizable menu.
I really enjoy coming here for boba. I tried the chicken tenders today—the marinade was delicious, but the skin was a bit soggy and lacked crunch. That said, they’re still better than Popeyes’ tenders, haha!
I typically enjoy excellent service and food at their other locations, but this one was a disappointment. The food here is good, but the service is terrible. When I visited, the few pieces of chicken in the display looked old, so I asked if anything fresh was cooking. One server just stared at me blankly, and another simply replied no. A minute later, they brought out a large tray of fresh chicken wings, and when I asked for them, the server told me I couldn't have any because they were reserved for someone else and that I'd have to wait. Eventually, they put the wings from that same tray into the display case, made me wait, and then finally served me some from there. They misled me twice—first by claiming there was nothing fresh cooking, and then by saying the wings were for someone else. It felt like they were trying to offload the old food onto me first. While the wings and the almond milk tea I ordered were tasty, the poor service left a bad impression.
Kung Fu Tea is an incredible boba spot. I used to dislike boba and didn't enjoy its flavor at other places. However, after my first sip here, I realized I had found my go-to spot. Every drink is scrumptious, and the extensive selection of drinks and toppings offers endless possibilities. I’m also a fan of their chicken—especially the tenders and sandwiches. Overall, I highly recommend giving it a try at least once, or even a hundred times if you end up loving it as much as I do!
