The downside is that everything is pre-made and served on disposable plates or in disposable cups. I enjoyed a delicious toasted sandwich, although my coffee was a bit lacking in flavor. The restaurant has a few small rooms where you can enjoy some privacy or relax in a comfortable chair.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was reminiscent of a cafeteria, as it was quite casual. However, the menu offered a variety of options including sandwiches, pastries, and cakes. My coffee was decent and the pastie I ordered was very tasty. My biggest complaint was that all the cutlery for dine-in customers was disposable, as were the plates and cups. The plastic knife provided was not able to cut through the thick pastry of my pastie on the small plate it was served on.
The menu offers typical café food like wraps, sandwiches, pizza, coffee, and cakes that are pre-made off-site and delivered to Zouki. The prices are on the higher side, with a small cappuccino costing $4.50. Unfortunately, my cappuccino was bland and lacked the vanilla syrup I had ordered. The service at Zouki Café was extremely poor. Despite struggling with a broken toe and being in pain, the staff seemed uninterested in serving me. I had trouble finding the entrance to the café and once inside, the staff ignored me in favor of chatting with a hospital employee. After a long wait, I finally placed my order and received minimal acknowledgment from the waitress. Overall, the staff was dismissive and inattentive, making me feel like my business was not valued. Needless to say, I left the café with a negative impression and won't be returning. I hope this review is helpful to others considering a visit to Zouki Café.
Loved the selection here. Certainly one of the best experiences I've had at a Willi restaurant. Would give it an 11/10 if I had the chance to.
The Zouki Café based at Williamstown Hospital is accessible & open to both the 'public' & hospital patrons alike. It has the appearance of clearly once being a part of the original hospital building itself due to the style & structure of the café however they have given the room / area a fresh coat of white paint, added a splash of bright green by way of a feature wall & installed a large display case full of sandwiches & cakes thus creating this café space. There are tables & chairs both inside & out with the latter being in a small courtyard seemingly adjacent to the rear of the emergency department. Overall at the time of my visit the facility did present as clean however the décor is somewhat dull & doesn't engender a desire to want to spend any great length of time here.[ Menu & Value ]: The menu is full of the usual fare such as wraps, sandwiches, pizza, coffee & a selection of cakes that are pre-made off site & delivered to Zouki as ordered. The prices are somewhat steep with a small, standard cappuccino being $4.50. My cappuccino was bland, tasting more of milk than of coffee & the vanilla syrup I had ordered was not added.[Service & Staff]Unfortunately the service was extremely poor. I had just been in the Radiology Department & had decided to have a coffee whilst awaiting a copy of the results. I had a broken toe so walking was extremely painful. I went to the Café as directed by staff & even though I followed the signage, it was difficult to locate the exact entry which turned out to be via the small courtyard. The door didn't open easily & I actually thought initially they were closed.Eventually I gained access & went directly to the counter to order. The woman behind the counter did not even acknowledge my presence rather deciding to continue to talk to the Hospital staff member there - mind you she was the only other person being served at this time. They continued with their social chit chat for at least another ten minutes, all the whilst I was waiting to even be acknowledge or asked what would I like to order. The pain in my foot became unbearable & the hospital staff must have notice as she turned to me and said "are you ok there, you look like you are in pain", turning straight back to continue talking to the waitress.I so much wanted to get up & leave without giving this Café any of my money. There was no service whatsoever, the staff dismissive & inattentive & one would not be mistaken for thinking that unless you actually work at the Hospital your business isn't of importance to them.Eventually I had my order taken, received my items with the waitress barely saying two words to me & hobbled out of the Café having already decided that my first visit here was definitely my last.Thank you for reading this review, I hope that it is helpful.
