Awesome place! It has lovely and delicious taste that will leave you satisfied. It's a great place to go to if you want a great quality pizza!
Great pizza! Perfect sauce, perfect cheese, perfect dough!!! 5 stars all around!
We were looking to pick up pizza and wings on the way home from shopping at Home Depot, on Transit, so we jumped onto Yelp to see what folks may have been saying about any local places. Nonno 's showed up. We 'd never heard if it before, and although they only had a few customer ratings, they were all 5 Stars, so we thought we 'd give it a try. Ethan phoned them to order. It was 7:50pm, apparently they close at 8pm, which we thought was odd for a pizza place, but the owner was exceptionally pleasant, and offered to make a pizza and wings for us even though it was only 10 mins to closing time. That in of itself was impressive and intrigued us enough to go ahead and place our order. We hit directions and proceeded to hone in on the address. That 's when we discovered why they closed at 8pm, because they 're located inside Eastern Hills Mall, just behind Duffs. So they 're located in the food court in the mall. When Ethan sent me a snapshot of the place inside the mall as I was waiting outside in the car, all I could think was Oh no, crappy food court pizza and wings, this is probably not going to be good but we were committed by that time. It turns out the owner, a young man that had inherited a family pizza business, was running the place and had only been open a few months. He stayed to make us our order till about 8:30pm, and gave Ethan his cell phone number to text him to let him know what we thought of the food, as he was really interested in getting feedback and suggestions as to how he might tweak things to improve what he 's offering to his customers. Just hearing that made me want to rejoice, shake his hand, and give him a supporting hug! So how was it? The flavor pizza was absolutely excellent! The base had a great flavor and the sauce was really really good. The ratios were spot on in my opinion also. The edge was a little light looking, and at first glance I expected it to be undercooked, but it was fully cooked and actually tasted really good. Maybe an extra couple of minutes in the oven would have taken it from an 8 to a 9, but it was one of the best flavored pizzas we 've had in a long time. It might not have been a wood fired pizza with hand cut fresh mozzarella, but the owner told Ethan that he was planning on heading in that direction in the future, and was also considering changing the company name. I think if this is anything to go by then he has all the ingredients for success already, he just needs to make a few tweaks is all. His attitude, enthusiasm and desire to keep improving is exceptional, commendable and noteworthy. His sauce flavor is excellent and the crust flavor is really good. A few tweaks here and there and it will be fantastic. The biggest hurdle in my opinion is their current location. I think that in of itself will keep many customers from giving them a try, and that 's unfortunate, because what they 're offering is really good. I wish him all the luck in the world for success, but I suspect to achieve the level of success he probably deserves, he 'll need to relocate to a place that 's more accessible to folks to be able to drive up and pick up without having to go inside the mall, and possibly be open later. I would suggest he take a drive out to Jays Artisan Pizza on Delaware in Kenmore sometime, in my opinion the best pizza in the entire Buffalo area, and talk to Jay and his wife, because the East Amherst/Williamsville/Clarence area really needs a place like that, and I expect they 'd make a killing if a similar place was in this area. The wings were really good too, but the pizza was the star of the show in my book. I look forward to seeing how he develops his business in the future and hope to see him succeed. If his attitude and passion and approach to customer service is anything to go by, I expect he will go from strength to strength if he makes a few strategic moves in the right direction. You can 't teach enthusiasm! That kind of passion comes from within! PS: Many folks in North Williamsville/Ea
My brother and I came across this pizza spot through an online search. We called the store to inquire about prices and were greeted by the owner, Charlie. He was warm and very friendly. We placed our order and arrived a few minutes early. The pizza place is located in the Eastern hills mall food court. If you didn't know it was located there, you could easily miss it. Signage near the front or even outside the mall would have been very helpful to both patrons and the business. As we waited, Charlie told us this was a Family business for over 30 years. I actually do remember coming to this location as a kid and ordering from LaRosa (the original name). In addition to pizza, they offered wings, chicken fingers, pastas, and salads. Anyway, Charlie was passionate about pizza making as he told us about perfecting his recipe. The pepperoni pizza itself came out hot and fresh from the oven. The cheese and pepperoni were the highlights. Both good quality. The dough was a bit chewy and the sauce could have been more flavorful. If you are in the area and looking for A hot slice or pie, then definitely check out nonno's. The service here is excellent too.
