We went to check out this restaurant as the Airport Mercure Hotel had been advertising the daily breakfast buffet deal for $20. We went for dinner. The seating was very comfortable, the service very friendly and attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered the grain fed Scotch fillet with mushrooms and cheesy croquettes and the pork belly. The steak was cooked medium-rare and tasty, although I would have preferred the sauce on the side or around the steak, rather than poured over the top. My husband mentioned his pork belly lacked flavour and could have had more crackling and sticky sauce, however, all in all it was a tasty meal and nicely prepared. The tasting platter for 2 was very nice also to start off with. We paid $105 for 1 entrée and mains, plus a glass of wine. Will definitely come back to check out the brekkie. The hotel is only 18 months old, and pretty much the only decent dining place around Raymond Terrace.
We had dinner here because we were staying at the hotel. Ordered the prawn pasta which was far too garlicky. The Curry was OK.
Not your usual airport hotel food but offering a nice selection of modern cuisine. Service was attentive and friendly
The food was well-prepared, tasty and imaginative - Tandoori Salmon. There were other interesting choices I would have tried had I spent more time there.
