The Taj Mahal is one of the few restaurants in and around Willingen that even has vegan options on the map. Unfortunately, when we were there, we were surprised that it was only buffet. When I mentioned eating vegan, the boss immediately led me to the buffet and showed me all vegan foods that were 4-5 dishes, but nothing with tofu (or cheese for vegetarians) instead of meat. In addition, I was allowed to choose a vegan dish with tofu from the map, which I got to the buffet for free. The extra dish was very delicious. Nevertheless, I believe that the buffet for vegans and vegetarians is not worthwhile and I would just go back if there is a la carte.
The food was really good and for vegans there are four tofu dishes to choose from. I had the 67 (see picture). I found out later that the Naan bread is not vegan. Too bad as it is listed on the menu under vegan. Vegetables
Friendly service, but unfortunately the allergen identification is incomplete and tastefully found my husband and I also did not find that good. Chana Masala (No. 61) stands for example in vegetarian dishes, but it is neither egg nor milk marked as allergens. On request, what is not vegan, I got asked for the waiter in the kitchen, the answer is not vegan. I then ordered the Tofu Jalfrezi (No. 67) with Naanbrot, whereupon the waiter told me if my food must be vegan, I would have to take the rice as a supplement, such as the Naanbrot with butter and therefore not vegan. As allergens, however, no milk is shown here and the naan bread is also part of the vegan dishes. My food (No. 67) was saturating, but unfortunately much too Korean, I would have known that (so much) Korean is in it, I would have ordered something else. In the Tofu Mango (No. 70) of my husband, where cashew seeds and almonds should be in it, there were no cashew seeds or almonds in it.
