The Thai fried rice is absolutely incredible—its aroma is so enticing that you'll find yourself drooling at just the smell. You can choose any protein to go with it, but I usually opt for the fried tofu. I love its crunchiness, though I realize it might not be for everyone. If you're under the weather, I highly recommend the Tom Zap soup without the chiles. It’s great with tofu, but you can actually choose any protein you like. The soup has a zesty, citrusy flavor that quickly clears your senses and feels soothing on the stomach. As for dessert, I wouldn’t consider myself a dessert person, but I do enjoy a few items, and the Thai doughnuts are fantastic. They aren't overly sweet, just perfectly balanced, and are delightful little pillows of doughy goodness. I really enjoy the food here, but the service is also excellent. The staff is attentive and always ready to help. The cleanliness of the restaurant and restrooms is greatly appreciated as well. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, making it a great place to relax. I absolutely love this spot!
This was my first visit to this restaurant after hearing wonderful things from several people, and they were right! The food was fantastic. I ordered the pad see ew with vegetables, while my husband chose the ginger vegetables. We visited for lunch and were impressed by the nice variety on the lunch menu. Both of our dishes were $8.25 each, and that included a spring roll. I can't wait to come back for dinner someday!
I ordered crab rangoons as my appetizer, and they came with six in a serving. They were crispy and looked gorgeous! Although I felt the filling contained more cream cheese than crab, they were still packed with flavor. The accompanying sauce was sweet and complemented the savory rangoons perfectly. For my main dish, I had pad see ew with beef, and it was fantastic! It was bursting with flavor yet felt light and didn’t leave me feeling heavy. The broccoli was tender but retained its bright green color, and the egg was cooked just right. The beef was both tender and tasty. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try more dishes!
I love this restaurant. I've only been once for lunch but I cannot wait to come back. Lunch comes with soup or salad or fried spring roll. I had the red curry with seafood (2 mussels, 1 sea scallop, 2 shrimp and small circles of calamari). The curry was very flavorful and I can't wait to get it again. I live in Raleigh and go to Wilmington frequently and I've had a hard time finding a good Thai restaurant in Raleigh and Wilmington has two, Indochine and Southern Thai!
I wouldn't say this place is THE best there are also places like Indochine and Big Thai), but it certainly is one of the best Thai places in town. I always try Pad Thai at any new place, and theirs was not a disappointment. I would certainly come back for it again. Overall, the atmosphere is nice. Location and service are good, as well as the price $8.5 for lunch special combo). The wait was a little long. Other than that, I do recommend this place.
