I was puzzled by the strange taste of my soda, and my dining companion noticed that their water also tasted odd. To make matters worse, there was a gritty substance at the bottom of their water cup. I definitely recommend staying away from this place until they properly clean their cups. It makes me wonder what other hygiene issues they might have, especially when handling raw fish.
That was the bright side of our experience. The service, on the other hand, was disappointing. Our server came across as socially awkward and seemed overwhelmed even though the restaurant was not crowded at the time we arrived, just before the dinner rush. She hesitated when taking our next order and made odd gestures while clearing our plates, even exclaiming, “I’m serving, so you should be helping me out!” She only visited our table twice, and we ended up having to request assistance from another server to address what we needed. Additionally, a gentleman who appeared to be the manager brushed me off mid-sentence when I tried to discuss our order. He eventually returned to provide a response, but his demeanor felt cold and dismissive. As for the atmosphere, it was rather mundane, with decor you could find in any restaurant. The location was in a shopping center that had several different restaurants offering various cuisines, which was somewhat interesting. Overall, I would rate this experience a 6/10 due to the subpar sushi and the minimal level of service. When the food is lacking, the service needs to excel, and in this case, they fell short. If you’re looking for sushi at a similar price point, you’d be better off going to Chaiyo, Hibachi, or, even better, Sakura Japanese Restaurant, which is also in the area and offers better quality sushi, service, and atmosphere at a slightly lower price. P.S. I noticed many college students and Gen Xers dining and working there, which might explain the casual vibe from the staff. However, it felt unprofessional when servers were sitting around having full conversations while I was trying to flag one down for a water refill for 15 minutes. Just something to consider...
We love the all-you-can-eat sushi here. They have a lot of different fancy rolls that I've never seen elsewhere. It's in a strip mall, so it's basically one room. It's clean and fine but not a unique atmosphere. Today, I only thought to take a picture when more than half was gone. The other 2 pics are two other trips.Food: 5/5
I visit here often. Sushi is always very good and the hot stuff is always fresh tasting. I do the $30 all you can eat. Sometimes they forgot appetizers, but are very quick to correct mistakes. The servers are friendly but don’t check in too often.
