Canal Tavern - Wiltshire

We selected this restaurant because it was a quick walk from the bustling town of Bradford on Avon. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We would definitely return if we find ourselves in Bradford on Avon again.

I have witnessed this restaurant change ownership several times, and I can confidently say that the current owners and staff, especially Ollie, are doing an excellent job. The restaurant has a great ambiance, and Ollie is a fantastic bartender. I hope the restaurant succeeds for the new owners. xx

I was pleasantly surprised to have such a lovely meal after reading some of the reviews on here. After a soggy day on the canal we wanted a hot meal a sit down. The canal tavern was the closet open pub serving food. The menu wasn’t huge but there was something on there for all of us when the girl brought it over we were all pleased with our choices. It was freshly cooked really tasty. Couldn’t fault it. The girl who was multitasking as a barmaid waitress was run off her feet but did it all with a smile on face. She was a credit to the establishment. I was almost put off going by some of the previous reviews on here but am so glad we did.

Amzing spot bybthe canal ,I have been 3 or 4 times since it reopened ,each time its pretty much the same , uninterested staff if any staff at all, poor service ,average food . Watched 2 families leave and go to lock inn as we waited . Surely it can't be this hard to run a small pub. Must try harder guys ,it should be 1 star but I want them to get better.

This pub is in a great spot, but just seems to limp from one manager to the next. No wine list, so asked for large white wine assuming a house wine- 250ml 12.90?? So £38.70 a bottle Queried this with the man at the bar and yes it's correct and wasn't particularly nice. Apparently I should have been offered a choice when I asked for a wine list. We won't return. Sounds like the stags and hens love it though You might have the beautiful canal but Dick and Jane brought people to this area, you can't ride off them anymore because they're old place has been ruined too within 2 years
