Hox Brasserie - Wiltshire

The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. It exceeded our expectations and has become one of our favorites.

We were very disappointed with our first visit to this restaurant. Despite high reviews, we were unimpressed. We deducted 3 points for poor service, bland food, and mediocre decor with overly bright lighting that gave it a more casual cafe feel than a restaurant. We arrived promptly for our 7.30pm booking, only to wait 10 minutes for our table to be set in a restaurant that was not yet full. It took multiple requests to receive tap water and wine, and the food took an excessively long time to arrive - 1.5 hours from sitting down to receiving our main courses. While our children enjoyed the Chicken Korma, our dishes (Chicken Shashlik, Bombay Potatoes, and Chicken Tikka) were bland and lacked any sizzle on the hot metal plates. We also noticed a frequent queue of delivery drivers picking up food via Just Eat, giving us the impression that the restaurant prioritizes its delivery service over dine-in customers. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

We ate here twice and had a take. I can't judge this place high enough! I would say it's the best curry in salisbury. fantastic service, reminded us, the discount in the august is fab, but we will follow regularly. I am so glad that this is only a few minutes away from my home. fantastic!
