Back then, you would receive a complimentary biscuit, a cup and saucer, and ice-cold water with a slice of lemon to accompany your espresso. However, on our most recent visit on 4/3/23, we were disappointed to receive a scalding hot mug of tasteless, undrinkable liquid, without a saucer and filled to the brim with no space for milk. Additionally, the espresso tasted like battery acid (resulting in stomach discomfort six hours later) and the water provided was lukewarm in a dirty glass. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
I went to this restaurant for breakfast at 9am this morning. Unfortunately, we were informed that they had run out of tea cakes, but the customer behind us was able to order them. When I requested some water, I was told it was in the jug, even though it was empty, and the staff member argued with me about it. The tables were still messy with trays, making it difficult for guests to find a place to sit. The restaurant seemed to be understaffed and the employees appeared to be stressed. The server taking our orders did not smile or thank us and was not helpful at all. The toast was served cold with hard butter, and the bacon was overcooked on a hard roll. I felt like I wasted the £12 I spent at this place. I will not be returning.
During our weekend in Salisbury, we decided to be budget-friendly and opted for sandwiches. They were delicious and we enjoyed having a picnic in the nearby parks.
Here we Sunday brunch time when the older folk of Salisbury come out and get their sausage sandwiches and scones, but with one person serving a 100 seater cafe is not enough. 20 minute wait whilst we watched the member of staff call for help three times and no-one came. There are plenty of other places around for a coffee. Go there instead.
We walked down here one morning and the best breakfast that we had all week. In the cafe of Marks and Spencer it was lovely and the best. Nice shop considering that the nearest store to me is in Canterbury although there is a food store in Ashford. But you need a car to get over to were it is.
