Despite this, we all left satisfied. The service could have been improved, as there were a few minor issues such as the waitress clearing our plates without checking if we were done eating. One of my daughters was still enjoying her sharing vegetables when they were taken away. The menu showed all available starters, mains, and desserts, but there wasn't anything that caught my eye for dessert so I ended up choosing a starter instead. My other daughter had her heart set on apple crumble, but we were later informed that it was actually a chocolate brownie. It would have been helpful to know this beforehand so that we could make informed choices. Despite these hiccups, the roast pork and halloumi fries were particularly delicious. The price per person ranged from £20-30. Overall, we rated the food 4 out of 5, the service 3 out of 5, and the atmosphere 2 out of 5.
I ordered a white wine but was brought a red instead. The waitress said she couldn't find the white I ordered, but then came back and offered me the correct wine. The meal was not very warm, but it was replaced quickly. There was a young boy, about 7 or 8 years old, wearing a onesie and following the waitresses around. He stood at our table staring at us, which was very unsettling. It seemed like he was the child of one of the waitresses. The waitresses appeared to be inexperienced and unsure of what they were doing. It's a shame because the pub itself is charming. The price per person was around £20-30. Food received a rating of 3, service a rating of 2, and atmosphere a rating of 2.
This restaurant was absolutely terrible. The food was so bad that I sent it back because it was cold, only to have it reheated in the microwave and returned to my table. It was completely inedible, so I sent it back again and refused to pay for it. I only paid for my drinks and then left. I would not recommend eating here at all.
Shocking place. Food was cold, sent it back. Two mins later returned back to us straight out of the microwave. In-edible, sent it back. No dinner for two of us out of a party of four. Paid for drinks and left. Food: 1 Service: 1
Looking for a quiet country pub on our drive back from Devon and found the Cross Keys. It's a little community run pub for locals and is obviously the centre of their community. So, good to support we thought. The young lady serving was super friendly and polite, and although we were too late for food (finishes at 2) we sat in the lovely peaceful pub garden and enjoyed our drinks. The pub also has a milk vending machine and milkshakes as well as jars of jams and pickles etc. There is also a phone number to get burgers, both beef and venison and a other farm products. It's a feel good place and exactly how a quiet country pub should be. Parking: Small parking area by the side of the pub, don't park out front as it blocks the road. Wheelchair accessibility: Steps at the front and also steps into the garden at the rear makes this quite limited for wheelchair users I'm afraid. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Parking options: Free parking lot
