My wife and I went for a mid-afternoon meal and had a great experience. The bartender was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us. The dining area was clean and well-lit, with a layout that allowed for privacy. Our food was served quickly and was delicious, with generous portions. The only downside was the lack of disabled access to the restrooms. Overall, we both enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere, and plan on returning frequently in the future.
The new owners have made a significant difference at this restaurant! It is now a friendly pub with a bright and spacious dining area, a large garden, and welcoming staff. Both the bar and dining areas were clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. My husband enjoyed the ham and cheese omelette, while I had the gluten and dairy free scampi and chips, which were perfect. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend The Yeoman. Wheelchair access is easy, with the option to go through the side gate and use the garden doors. Confident wheelchair users with mid-wheel drive will find the main porch entrance accessible. The ramp to the dining area is steep but sturdy, and manageable with a powerchair, although it may be intimidating. Unfortunately, there is no accessible toilet, with the gents located up two steps and the ladies having level access but a narrow corridor that is not wheelchair friendly. There is plenty of parking available. The staff were very helpful with allergens, offering gluten and dairy free options and being able to accommodate both together. The menu even had a good selection for those with allergies, which is rare. This restaurant takes allergens seriously, providing a huge comfort for those with dietary restrictions. For even more choices, it is recommended to call ahead, although we had a great experience showing up without a reservation.
I was extremely disappointed with our visit to the restaurant today. We have been several times before and had booked a staff meeting. To start off, the cup and saucer looked like they had dirt or dust in them, which was promptly replaced. My glass of apple juice had a hair in it (even though my hair was tied back in plaits). The barman offered to pour my juice into another glass. Another person at our table found a long, dark hair in her food and took the plate to the barman, only to be told that there was no supervisor or manager on site. The response was, "What do you want me to do about it?" I was extremely angry and will not be returning to this restaurant.
