Food was tasty, not the cheapest but big portions. We were welcomed warmly and the place had a really nice atmosphere, which led to a good evening
We used the Wellesley Arms for a wedding reception after looking for a suitable venue that was accommodating for small groups. Mark and his team were utterly wonderful, his attention to detail was second to none. The food choice was excellent with all of our group accommodated. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this pub for anything from a casual night out to a family or gathering of friends.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted, to the moment we left, everything was superb. The food presentation and quality was superb. As for the mussels, I think there could have been the best I have ever had and I have eaten a lot of mussels. Will return soon.
This pub has a lot to live up to being the sister pub of exceptional The Langley Tap, and it certainly does. We have now visited on many occasions and it keeps getting better and better. Last night we visited as a group of seven and everyone of us raved about our meals. The seafood dishes in particular were excellent. My friend commented “the best mussels I have ever had!”. Front of house made the visit special I don’t know the names of the two ladies serving but they were so polite and attentive. Mark was a great host as ever. Thank you for a wonderful evening. The pub restaurant has a great feel being well decorated and celebrating the history of the building. The surrounding village is a beautiful setting. We haven’t tried the outside courtyard area and pizza nights yet but we definitely will.
