I ordered the sausage and mash which was delicious, but my mother found the sea bream to be just average. The service was lacking, with clumsy actions like loudly placing a water jug and clashing glasses, as well as indiscreet comments about the bill and tip from the server. Overall, I found the service to be extremely rude.
I visited the Whole Hog in Malmesbury for Sunday lunch and was extremely impressed. The food was outstanding, especially the roast potatoes. It was a superb all-around dining experience that I would highly recommend.
A group of 14 of us came for Sunday roast and it was a resounding success. A lot of us had roasts and they were great, Yorkshire for everyone, crispy fluffy potatoes, excellent variety of veg and thick tasty gravy. Points only lost for lack of parsnip and the uncomfortable benches. Would definitely return and by far the best roast in a long time.
After walking out of a café across the road due to their atrocious customer service we looked towards the Whole Hog, but being Sunday, did not hold out much hope. Well, they found us a table and fed us handsomely (Roast and a cracking Ham, Egg and chips). Great pub with a side dining room. Wish it was nearer to where we lived.
We visited the wonderful town of Malmesbury on our family trip to Wiltshire. After speaking to a few locals, we decided to give the whole hog a go for dinner and it didn’t disappoint! It was wonderful food and the staff were pleasant! The pub itself could maybe do with a touch up but the food itself more than made up for it!
