The food is very good with a very wide choice on their new menu. Award winning wines complement the excellent food. Sitting out with the gas fired space heaters is always a joy. Highly recommend this wonderful venue
We chose to visit this winery with a cafe nearby because of its proximity to where we were staying. There were renovations going on during our visit, but we were informed of this beforehand and it did not affect our experience. The staff were pleasant, although a bit unclear when taking our order. I had requested a tasting plate to share as our appetizer, followed by my husband ordering the chicken pasta and myself ordering the curried sweet potato soup. Unfortunately, all of the dishes were brought out at once, making it difficult to enjoy the tasting plate while the other dishes grew cold. Overall, the meal was disappointing and seemed to be made from frozen or pre-packaged ingredients. The presentation was also lacking. We left most of the food uneaten due to its poor quality. The pasta seemed to have been reheated in the microwave and the soup was overly seasoned with curry, making it difficult to taste anything else. We were eager to leave and did not feel comfortable discussing our concerns with the staff. This will be our first and last visit to this establishment.
Negative Points: Unfortunately, there is only one vegetarian option on the menu, which is quite overpriced at AUD30 for just one tube of cannelloni. The lamb "pie" is more like a lamb stew with a pastry lid, which was a disappointment. Additionally, there is limited indoor seating, so we had to sit outside. The outdoor area was cold and there were no plastic shutters or heaters to protect us from the weather. During our meal, the table next to us had to move due to an overflowing gutter. Overall, this restaurant has potential but they should consider improving the outdoor area to make it more weatherproof. It is also important to offer more affordable and varied vegetarian options on the menu. It was frustrating to not know what the vegetarian special was before arriving.
The Nookery at Woody Nook Wines is one of the best spots in the Margaret River area. This casual cafe-style restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and a fantastic team of staff. Guests can enjoy wine tastings in the tasting room before choosing a bottle to pair with their meal. The lunch menu offers a great selection of delicious dishes, all of which are of top-notch quality. Cellar door sales are also an option for those interested in taking home a bottle of their favorite wine.
By far the BEST garlic prawns I have ever tasted! A wholesome lunch with a little bit sweet, little bit chilly and little bit salty. If you like seafood this is a must to try. Compliments to the chef and staff this place is a great little place for wine/port tastings and food.
