I had a chicken burrito while he likes a little variety he had an order of chicken, carnitas and carne asada tacos. Starter salsa and chips is served immediately after sitting down. The starter salsa is mild and tastes fresh. Once your food comes out you get two other types of House salsas (red and green) both get my approval! A good salsa will complete any Mexican dish Their decorations are cute and they have a sale Wednesday's tacos for $1! Hope this sale stays for long as it will be the reason we'll be there next Wednesday! I also overheard a customer request a mangonada which made my mouth water. I'll definitely be ordering one next ti Place was clean, although I never checked out their restrooms. Menus were clean which nowadays it's become a deal breaker for me.
Great food , $1 taco Wednesdays , guacamole is the best i have ever had!!!! Not much on the outside the food speaks for itself!!!
One of four real Mexican food restaurants in Winchester that I have frequented many times. Absolutely authentic taqueria food with street tacos at great prices that is unfortunately hit or miss... sometimes absolutely amazing and other times just OK. That said, the inside it getting a little run down, but its clean, the staff is polite, and the service is prompt. They have a bar in the back near the kitchen where you can order take out or have a beer and watch sports. There are TVs tuned to sports in the dining room as well. They have a special one night a week where beer and tacos are like 2 bucks each. Again, the story of this place is that some nights the tacos are fantastic and other nights they are just OK. They have never been bad just not consistently great. That said, this is the only place in town I have been where they actually have posole and serve menudo on Sunday. Worth a visit when you feel the need for the Mexican version of a greasy spoon diner with great prices on food and beer.
YOyo place!!! This visit an absolute fail. The pico de gallo was not fresh at all--it was made with canned tomatoes (or maybe rotten , the limes are dried out, and the chips were made in burnt/rancid oil! It took an hour for our food to come out, water glasses stayed empty, the carne asada was fatty and grisly, and the $12.50 overpriced Super Burrito I previously enjoyed tasted so bad I didn't finish it. And the rest of my party was in full disappointment with things like the tacos, taco salad, and tacos durado (over-cooked tasteless chicken . Another thing, if you speak Spanish they make a big deal when you leave, everyone else it's crickets. Why is it so hard to provide friendly service regardless of your preferred language? Spanish speakers get much better service--I noticed this several visits before and let it slide, but not cool. Not once did our server ask how things were. I will not be back, I have given his place too many failed chances. I paid $65 for lunch with waters only for two adults and five kids which would have been OK if the food was edible. But it wasn't. Embarrassing. SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO MAKE GOOD FOOD IN THIS TOWN, OPEN UP SHOP! This makes me hate Winchester right now (venting! .
The food was good for our family and everyone was able to find something they wanted. The torta wasn't as authentic as I expected, given the setting, and was served on a packaged roll. The burritos were large and good. The shredded beef is delicious. The service leaves a bit to be desired, but our waitress, who was the only waitress serving the entire restaurant, was courteous but less attentive than we would have liked. While I will try other places next time I'm back in Winchester, I could also see us trying el barrio again!
