Pretty standard menu of inexpensive pub classics with a few specials on the...blackboard attentive service from cheerful waiting and bar staff. the food was served quickly and was very tasty with generous portions. if after a good honest pub with well cooked diners with cheerful employees, then this is the place to go!
Eating was very good from a basic menu. the chef has done very well on himself, the outside was quite busy, inside very quiet. the dame behind the bar was her feet away, which commanded for drinking and eating, she served outside and. by the way and cleaned up, the manager appeared at the end of the service to clear a few things away! ask her wine and drink prices before the there no visible prices. do not be too proud to ask if it is not displayed. I asked for prosecco and was told I could have it through the bottle only. I have been a regular customer with greene king and chef and brewery for many years and was very worried that £28 will be charged! I asked the manager and he said he bought it from greene king for £18 a bottle and the krone at bishops waltham calculated £32 a bottle, greene king: the only prosecco he had was mionetto it retail at a max price £11
Had a nice dinner in barleycorn inn with my family! service was impeccable (a big scream for alicia,) eating was delicious, and the ambiente cozy and cozy. highly recommended!
My daughter brought me to the barleycorn for birthday dinner on the bank holiday Monday. fortunately, we have booked a table, as it was filled by 1 clock. the staff was very friendly. the coffee was amazing and served in huge porcelain canyons in a saucer and mint on the side. as vegetarian we ordered the makkaroni cheese with salate and garlic bread. it was delicious. After we haven't eaten here before we were of a little bit size, we also ordered a side of chips and a side of wobble rings. Oh, my. the portions are enormous and unfortunately we couldn't finish everything that was a scandal, as it was all beautiful. it was very delicious and hot. the salad had a brownish dressur, which was also very tasty. would definitely recommend and hopefully return for another meal.
Spontaneous visit for mid week lunch. In the past have really enjoyed jacket potato with chilli but opted for gammon egg and chips which also came with peas and onion rings. Very generous portions and very tasty. The chips were excellent. So often chips are...reheated over cooked etc but these were lovely. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We shall definitely be returning.
