The Cathedral Cafe - Winchester

After exploring the cathedral, we enjoyed a well-deserved meal at this fantastic restaurant. It was a perfect spot to meet up with friends for a coffee.

Absolutely delicious hot chocolate. quite expensive at 3 a glass 3.50 with marshmallows etc. but it is worth a birthday contract. The folding jacket I had was good too. the refectory lies directly opposite the cathedrale behind the load. it is a pleasant place with lots of natural light. nice to sit outside in the summer.

Had chili jacket kartoffel and suppe of the day. both beautiful. pleasant service and delicious food. a relaxing atmosphere too.

The restaurant has a beautiful building, especially in the summer when patrons can sit outside. However, I found the quality of the food to be lacking. I complained about the hard and tasteless cheese, only to be told that mild cheese had been delivered instead of strong cheese. The processed cheese used in my cheese and tomato panini was barely warm and lacked flavor. The portions of coleslaw and salad were large but lacked finesse. Overall, the food did not meet my expectations and the service was not up to par. There were no feedback forms available to share complaints or compliments. I believe that the restaurant's standards have declined over time.

It was the Christmas Market weekend so busy. BUT there is no excuse for dirty toilets and no one clearing the tables and making them Covid friendly, especially as staff were busy laughing and talking. Food average and standard prices. Cannot believe that 2/3 tables...brought their own food in and just ordered a drink !! I think on a beautiful sunny day sitting outside it would be different.
