We booked a table for six, and we were shown upstairs where our table was the pub downstairs was very busy as it was upstairs but it didn't feel too uncomfortable, we ordered our food and drinks , the service was impeccable as was our food which was freshly cooked and very tasty, also not overly expensive great value for money, considering how busy they were we all agreed how very nice our experience was and are looking forward to revisiting the William Walker, would not hesitate to recommend definitely one if not the best in Winchester.
We were a large group of 11, the restaurant called ahead as they were getting low on roast dinners , this was really appreciated. Really good food , great service, we will definitely return .
Nice busy city centre pub, first one you hit after leaving the Xmas Market....£9.50 for a small mug of mulled wine!! Extortionate....The Vine 100m away sells for £5.50.
We wanted to experience a Sunday roast beef on a day trip to Winchester from London. We were one of the first ones to dine, arriving around Noon. It was a charming enough pub, but the order took a while, which I expected, but when the food was brought out it was cold. Even the center of the roasted parsnip, which at the very least sould have been warm. It was as if the food had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. Very disappointing .
