Rosseau Grill - Windermere

We returned to the rosseau grill in the windermere house due to an earlier excellent experience. the contrast of this time was immeasurable. Despite a midday reservation, it took over 30 minutes to sit our party of 4 times, it took 15 minutes to get our. order. an hour and 15 minutes after our reservation we had no notice on our meals. we were originally one of only 3 parties in the rosseau grill, but quickly we were the only party we are served in the interior. we could see that several parties are operated by servers outside the veranda, but only one server rarely came in. it must be said that when it finally arrived, eating was as good as we had remembered, but the anxious service and the time delay spoiled all memories. we will not return.

The location of the restaurant was stunning, overlooking Lake Rosseau. The overall facility was pleasant, and the veranda was beautiful. The service was a bit slow, but the staff was friendly, professional, and helpful without being intrusive. The drink selection was decent, but the food was mediocre at best. The fish was soggy and the chips were oversalted, as were the tacos. It was disappointing considering the generally good quality of the ingredients. On the bright side, the sushi looked appetizing and was very tasty. Overall, the price-quality ratio resulted in an average dining experience.

This is my second visit to The Rosseau Grill since it changed ownership from O&B, and unfortunately, the service has been very slow. Last year, the waiter mentioned that they were understaffed, which seems to be the case tonight as well. Despite arriving 30 minutes early for my reservation, I was not seated promptly, even though there were multiple empty tables. It took another 30 minutes before we were acknowledged and given water or had our drink orders taken. It felt like we were being ignored. I have been a regular at this restaurant for many years, visiting every summer, but since the change in ownership, the service has not been the same. After being seated for an hour, we had only received a sushi appetizer. I would not recommend this restaurant if you have a large group, are very hungry, or do not want to spend a long time waiting for your meal. The Rosseau Grill needs to improve their service; they used to be fantastic.

Enjoyed this excellent restaurant with the BF and my parents. A beautiful day for lunch on the patio after a boat ride. Excellent food, prices, and staff!

My man and I had breakfast and dinner in the grill. eating was delicious, there were no delays and the staff was friendly and efficient! the view from the terrace of the lake was amazing!
