Love the food. Great place to take the entire family. Smores by the campfire is the perfect end to a fun evening out.
We love this place, and maybe five stars is a tad overheated, but honestly everything went right for our dinner here the other evening. First there's the restaurant itself: it spreads over a bar and dining area inside, a porch, an outside area with picnic tables and chairs, and there are spaces for games to help keep the kids (and adults entertained. It's a lively scene with occasional live music and dancing and what appear to be a cluster of locals who look as if they can be found at the bar 16 hours a day (ok, that's kind of a slur, and we don't mean it that way, only that everyone we saw here looked very comfortable and content . Good enough. Our waitress Danyelle was a hoot: funny and quick and knowledgeable about the restaurant's offerings. We started with some beers from their very good selection, then added crab cakes, grilled salmon, beer cheese soup and something else that slips our minds (maybe too much beer? . Everything was just fine, and the soup was indeed a hearty, flavor-packed meal unto itself. We savored our time here, and we never felt rushed. The prices are quite reasonable: salmon $24 and little neck steamers $16, all about par for what we'd expect. We'd come back in a skinny minute, especially if we could recruit Danyelle to take care of us again.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The fried chicken was delicious, my husband loved it, and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her chicken sandwich. I opted for the grilled sausage, which was equally delicious. I highly recommend it, especially considering the affordable price of $72 for a family of three. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant, despite being a bit old-fashioned.
The food is still delicious and reasonably priced, but I wanted to mention that there is now a surcharge for using a credit card to pay.
