Bean's Ladle Eatery & Take-Out

Eat there often when in Windsor. It is close to the university and has great food. Large portions and tasty. There is free parking in the back as well.

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight. My husband ordered the Cabbage Soup and a Corn beef Sandwich, I ordered Fish and Shrimp. My husband said the soup was great, he really enjoyed it. I loved my fish it was the best I have tasted in a long time, however I don't know how the shrimp tasted because the server heard me wrong and ordered fish and chips. The service wasn't to bad, the servers were polite. We will definitely return for dinner again.

Now. A family run resturant. WIFE makes desert. .yummy! HUSBAND makes the main dishes. Love the size of the meals, not just big in size but big in taste. Never disappointed.Friendly staff cold beer and nice clean warm place.

The exterior gave no indication of this eateries' clean, modern and spacious interior. Although the menu reads like a novel, you will find focused lunch fare and well promoted features. My cheddar mushroom (canned mushroom , but I love canned) came quickly and was fantastic. The hand cut fries were worth the trip alone!

Was driving by the U of W on University Ave and noticed their signage stating Mexican Mondays and it planted the seed in my mind as to where to have lunch. Ordered the chicken fajita which was both large in size and flavour. The side soup was a bowl not a cup and also delicious. More than enough food for lunch and left very satisfied if not feeling too full. Our other order was a veggie burger between onion rings and zucchini sticks and must have been 6 inches tall with the bun; served with plenty of fires. I was able to finish my lunch but my wife could only eat 1/2 the burger and nibble at the fires. I could not even think about helping out after my meal. Extremely impressed with the food, atmosphere and decor. Will visit again real soon. It was busy though, taking 45 minutes from start to finish so needed an hour for lunch. Server was very good but with only 2 servers including take-out orders and phone calls may have slowed the process but staff attentive as refilled our beverages when near empty. Will try Mexican Mondays again as well as other days as a varied menu.
