These guys are sitting on a gold mine, but don't have the culinary and industry savvy to turn this joint into the special location is could be. Don't pass by in the summer without having. A drink on the patio. The long island iced tea is LEGENDARY.
While visiting Windsor, 3 locals suggested lunch at Lilly's. It was not very busy for a later lunch time and we were seated right away. Had a nice table overlooking the water. Since it was winter we could not enjoy the patio but I bet it is a hopping place in the summer. Enjoyed the perch lunch and it was very good. We subbed out vegetables for the fries and had the vinaigrette dressed coleslaw. Waitress said the creamy coleslaw was better but I liked mine just fine. I saw some other diner's plates. The salads looked huge and french fries looked fresh cut. I would def go back if I was in Windsor again.
If you love seafood and river views this is a must try restaurant. being new to windsor i often wonder why more restaurants, cafes, bars, yoga studios are not right on the river. its such a beautiful view. this restaurant ticked a lot of boxes for me. it had a fantastic view and the food and service were excellent. the drink menu was more authentic than your traditional boring drinks. they had about a handful of ice cream drinks that could be served with or without alcohol in addition to an awesome spiked coffee selection. the white russian was $6.95 whis is what i would normally pay for a craf beer, so the prices dont seem too bad. the white russian was very yummy. i would order it again. my husand ordered a frozen mudslide ice cream drink which was good, especially if it was a super hot day, but being dinner time, i didnt want to fill up on ice cream before my meal. the food is very good. they start you off with warm bun and hommade whipped garlic butter (which they should jar up and sell) i would buy it for home if available! we got the escargo to share and it was so amazing. it was served in a white cream sauce, not the traditional mushroom cap topped cheese. they gave us another bread so we could dip it into the extra escargo sauce. like i said the service is very good. any we asked for was accomodated. i definitely recommend ordering the escargo. my beef veggie soup was amazing and it was definitely homemade. the caesar salad was so very good. the dressing was very garlicky, which i love and made it seem authentically made in house. the snow crabs were excellent. not fishy at all and and the garlic butter sauce was amazing again. my only complaint about the snow crabs is they were not pre cut. i found that i spent a lot of time trying to open them. near the end of our dinner a server told me a trick on how to open them more efficiently, so i think i will give it a go again perhaps on a tuesday night when its all you can eat crab. however the dinner portion was massive and i wasnt able to eat it all. i have yummy left overs for tomorrow! if not i will try the king crab which is hopefully pre cut. my husband ordered the surf and turf and you cant go wrong with this delicous dish. the steak was cooked perfect. the lobster was pre cut and my husband got it out all in one piece of lobster which i must admit i was jealous of that. i had to work very hard for each bite of my crab. luckily he shared some lobster and steak with me! i honestly cannot say a bad thing about this place. i think its my new favorite restaurant. my only complaint is that i didnt learn about it earlier.
I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. My friend took me to dinner and I got the all you can eat crab. My friend got a different dish. I was having a hard time cracking the crab as I have issues with my hands. So, my friend helped me crack them. Then, a worker comes out and begins accusing me of giving my crab to my friend. I explained that I needed help due to my hands. The worker challenged me on this and explained I would need to pay for 2 crab dinners. I began crying as I felt very understood and taken advantage of. The worker then started yelling at me. I didn't get to finish my meal as I was so upset and embarrassed. This experience affected me tremendously, which is a shame because I was a weekly customer and have not been back since.
Was there recently and brought my family. Place was nearly empty. First impression was that it was dirty and seemed like they use the same rag to wipe down everything thus leaving a film of bacteria everywhere. The menus literally smell awful. Wtf? We left before we ordered. Complete shithole..
