Shanghai Bistro Shàng Hǎi Xiǎo Guǎn

This is an outstanding Chinese restaurant, serving the best beef noodle soup in the city. All the other dishes are fantastic as well. I'm thankful they managed to survive the pandemic. You really have to try this place at least once in your life!

The food here is amazing—definitely one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in Toronto. The Shanghai noodles were outstanding, and the pig bells were incredibly tasty. The dumplings were exceptionally fresh. Mmmmm! We will definitely be returning.

I was completely taken aback by its Google rating. This small Shanghainese gem serves dishes bursting with warm, flavorful goodness in a charmingly unpretentious café. The soup-filled dumplings are incredibly hot and just melt in your mouth. The boiled dumplings are generously filled with pork, shrimp, and vegetables—juicy and not at all dry. The garlic beans are delicate, with a light sauce that warms your lips with every bite. The fresh squid is perfectly tender and brimming with juicy teriyaki sauce that will tantalize your taste buds. The spicy pork belly is enhanced by fiery chiles, creating an explosion of flavor with every mouthful. To top it all off, the savory red bean pancakes are a must-try. It would be a crime to leave even a crumb on your plate! I’ve discovered a treasure that I plan to visit in Blenheim every couple of weeks, and I can’t wait to try more.
