Since we are staying here at the Marriott Sanibel Resort and Spa for the weekend, we always love a good steak so we must try the Courtside Steak house. Why they called it that name? Well its right next to the tennis courts so we guessed it correct!!! Even though we had reservations for 7:30 for two, we didn't need it because the place was empty on a Friday night. So we checked in and told them and we decided to sit at the empty bar with the baseball playoff games on the TV. Jonathan, who was the bartender and waited on us, was polite, knowledgeable about the menu and specials, and was a great conversation. A bottle of Sonoma Cutre Chardonnay to share and one ice berg lettuce wedge for my love. Nice and ice cold perfect starter. For the main course, a 6 oz filet mignon for her and I had the 12 oz NY strip. For the sides, the sautéed Brussel Sprouts with pancetta and the cheese topped au gratin potatoes. Both beef entrees were grilled to a perfect medium rare, served on a very hot plate. So best way to get some of the redness out is to cut the beef in half the long ways, and place it on the hot side of the plate and it will be perfect for a few minutes. YUM!!! Both of the sides were a perfect match and wash it down with the chardonnay and we were set for the night. No room for dessert, and a quick call by the staff, to the valet area and the free shuttle was there to take us back to the Sanibel/main hotel building. Overall, good steaks, a bit too heavy on the seasoning, nice dining room, decor and ambiance. Great service from Jonathan. We will be back!!!?️?️?️???
Not a typical restaurant associated with a hotel (Marriott). Comfortable ambience and super friendly service, even for a party of 6. Restaurant is back in order after hurricane Ian and it it looks out over the tennis and pickle ball courts. Signage to find the front door isn’t great. We had multiple apps, every side and quite a few of the main courses. Most of the food was amazing. Have the bacon appetizer (more like a pork belly). Steaks cooked perfectly and appetizers are all Dynamite. Downside is way over usage of salt. Couldn’t finish the crab soup, way too salty. Redfish was some of the best I’ve had, but the sauce required a drink of water for every bite, finally scraped it off. Couple of the apps (broccolini without sauce and another) just way too salty. Definitely with a visit
Would highly recommend this restaurant. The servers were outstanding.and their recommendations were as well. We ordered the special , the ribeye. Was cooked perfect.
Service was slow but that was to be expected while still recovering from the hurricane. I ordered rack of lamb which was good but a rack of lamb is technically 16 ribs but most restaurants serve 8 ribs. They only served 4 small ribs which was nothing more than an overpriced appetizer $44). Only order if your not Hungary.
