However, we highly recommend the lean grilled pork over rice with a side of baby shrimp or Gai Lan. This cozy, family-run establishment has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with the mother serving as hostess and the father in the kitchen. It's heartwarming to see their children grow from servers in college to young adults.
Evergreen in Winnipeg offers the best BBQ pig and duck without a doubt! The food is incredible and they use very little MSG, making it a great option for those with sensitivities.
If you enjoy Chinese BBQ, this is the perfect spot for you! Oh my goodness, it is so delicious that you will not be disappointed at all.
Since 1982, Teresa and her husband have been building cement-resistant loyalty. I must say that it is the consistency of quality that is absolutely the cornerstone of this company. A tiny little place that is easily missed by you, drives Pembina down, but a MUST FIND! I tried many dishes on their menu and was never disappointed. The best for me, however, is the BBQ pork; still fantastic, even better if immersed in her house hot (chili) sauce. Wonton soup is brilliant, I always command extra wontons because they are so good. Pop in and say HI to Teresa, her husband is away in the kitchen cooking, and order everything (pictures on the wall also help), you will be back guaranteed! My mouth is pouring straight, I think I better go over there for dinner... NOTE: She reduced her open days just recently so that she is open for lunch / dinner Wednesday to Saturday.
We were referred to this restaurant by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Hot Sour Soup was yummy, not sure of all the ingredients but we enjoyed it none the less. Dishes were tasty with fresh ingredients but we found portions smaller than usual. Service was fast but our fault for not asking for recommendations. We were limited to what we could order due our fussy son, so we'll definitely return to try different dishes. Theresa the owner is fabulous and I'm sure a huge part in why they've been open since 1980.
