We asked for waters to buy us some time and order 3 drinks when she returned. She only brought 2 drinks back and went to get the third. Ummm...it's called a tray. It can carry 3 drinks. My friend and I had Belgium moon which was just below room temperature. We place our food orders which consisted of chicken fingers, burger and wraps. This took about 40 minutes to get to us and there was no one really in the restaurant. The good:Chicken fingers were really good and had a nice batter. Shoestring fries and there is a lot of them. The bad:My BBQ burger was burnt and dry. Like hard, crispy burnt. When I looked at it you can tell they tried to cut some of the burned crust off. Now I know why my meals took so long. It takes a while to burn a burger that much. Seriously worst burger I've ever had. McDonalds has better burgers.
We went here late one evening for dinner, and I was happy we picked it. You get a mountain of food for your money. The wrap I had was very good, as were the fries. The only letdown was the Caesar salad. There was far too much dressing even for my taste. I'll be back again to sample more food, including the peanut butter milkshake.
We went on a very busy day (Canada Day) but still received attentive and quick service. The burger, sandwich, and pasta we had were all good. But the star of the meal was the pierogi poutine appetizer. It was by far the best of the three poutines we had in Winnipeg. Generous portion, tasty gravy, perfect pierogies, lots of cheese, and even had some bacon. Perfect for 4 people. We'd come back just for that alone!
I went for lunch Friday may 27 with a work colleague. We ordered off the 10 min express menu (chicken fingers and fries)We waited 25 mins for our orderWe asked to have it to go When we asked when our order was placed we asked about the 10 min guarantee. The woman owner and our server became extremely defensive. The owner then continued on to say that if she knew we were just trying to get a free meal she wouldn't have seated us.She treated us horribly and it was a completely insulting experience. After coming here for 20 yrs I'm completely disgusted at how I was treated and will never return.
Headed downtown on a Saturday evening for what I was told was the best chicken fingers in town. They are very very tender and flavorful, and the restaurant now serves them with honey dill sauce (as it should be in Manitoba!) Lots and lots of shoestring fries come with as well. Very nice spot - ambiance is nicer here than the Main St location.
