My 12-year-old son wanted to go to Kalan for his birthday and we all enjoyed our Tocino! When I mentioned to our server that my son chose Kalan for his birthday breakfast, he brought two fried chickens to the house and let my son also have a free drink. Great food, good service, the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely come back
Went with a friend for breakfast service was good food was moderate, best would not go back no Frills shabby interior had no hash brown potatoes? (can not hold in the freezer) while I like rice, I don't want it with breakfast thought I would try it was awfully strange taste
About your average Filipino food quality. Good portions, ugly atmosphere, ugly layout, cold and decorate in winter, nice staff. It's great in the morning for breakfast, just not her at that time when you're running out of the law as his always visited by the police... Really cold and decorate because of cheap doors and wind tunnels from the front door to the side door. The counter is placed behind the diners in the back and walled off by the public. Spices are usually dirty and utensils are not always clean Great place for a Filipino breakfast fix when what you do 're cravings, as I sometimes do in the morning.
Go here lots with coworkers for their Tocino (garlic rice, sweetened cured pork and sunny side up eggs). I have tried many places in Winnipeg but Kalan does it best. The restaurant is clean, the pork isn't fatty like many others and the staff is...friendly. If you have never had Tocino I recommend starting here.
